Ingredients:
- 1 or 2 medium to large sweet potatoes/shakarkandi
- 2-3 tbsp sugar or as required (depends on you)
- 2 tbsp (clarified) ghee
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- a pinch of saffron/kesar
- 5 each nuts (cashew,almond,pistachio) chopped/sliced
Recipe:
Boil the sweet potatoes (shakarkandi).When they become warm, peel and mash them.Heat ghee in a kadai or pan add the mashed sweet potatoes stir well and saute for 3-4 mins add sugar and saute for 4-5 mins. Next add crushed cardamom and stir add saffron and stir.keep on stirring and cooking the halwa till ghee starts to leave the sides of halwa for approx 10-12 minutes on a low to medium flame. Finally add the chopped nuts and stir again and its ready to serve.
